in the beginning...

we (HS) uploaded an image and gazed at the screen...

Being totally new to blogging, we wondered both where to begin and how... so we reverted to ancient remedies for a moment, and looked out of the window... then we sprang into a  form of 'action'... and made a cup of tea...

These pages will - we hope (and in a manner of speaking...) chronicle the start of work at the studio in Warehouse Hill Road... work that started way back in 1966 in some ways, at St.Martin's School of Art in London... or maybe even earlier... around 1950, in Leeds...

We could try and start at the beginning, but that would be rather tedious... so we'll start with the moment... the present... which of course, by the time the word is written... has already become the past...

But it's nearly lunchtime and the new working wall at the studio needs at least it's first coat of paint... so we'll get on with 'doing', and leave these ramblings for later on this evening perhaps...

However, to set some part of the scene here in Marsden at least... there is snow on the top of Shooter's Nab, and a watery sun on the bare branches of the tree... Maybe later on tonight, with the sound of a fire in the grate, the view from the desk window may look more like this...
